Workshop on “India-EU FTA: For Whom?” in New Delhi
02/02/2012

On 10 February, the next round of the negotiations for the EU India FTA will be started. Actually, the negotiations, which began in 2007, should be completed at this meeting. But following the widespread protests of Indian small business owners and entrepreneurs to the liberalization of investment in retail, hardly anyone believe into a final conclusion of the negotiations at this meeting.

Misereor, the Heinrich Böll Foundation and Glopolis have in common with the Indian organizations TWN and Anthra conducted an analysis of the impact of the FTA on the human right to food (RFIA): the results of the analysis are worrying for many of the most vulnerable groups in India.

At a joint meeting the results oh the RFIA will be presented. The EU / India trade agreement is critically discussed and alternatives are further considered.
